Baptist Health System - San Antonio TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) OR Circulate for a nursing job in San Antonio, Texas.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, within the nurse’ competencies following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Completion of peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training course

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or currently eligible for state board certification.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

- Surgery - CNOR Board eligible/certified

- Post Anesthesia-CPAN Board eligible/certified

- GI Lab SGNA Board eligible/certified

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):

- BLS - required for all areas-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training or the Military Training Network

- ACLS required for all areas in Surgery Services and must obtain within 6 months of date of hire or transfer into unit

- PALS- required for Post Anesthesia and must obtain within 6 months of date of hire or transfer into unit

Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
