Let's connect in 2021-2022!

Greetings SA AACN Members! We are excited to kick off the 2021-2022 year with educational offerings, nurse networking, community involvement, nurse recognition, and volunteer opportunities. We plan to have a mix of virtual and in-person events as able amid the pandemic. Check the upcoming events tab for current offerings and register for this month's event!

Chapter meetings with educational offerings are being held the third Thursday of the month, September through April. These are currently virtual events via Zoom, as we work toward being able to resume in person meetings amid the pandemic. We hope to connect at dinner meetings, social events, and gatherings very soon! Feel free to invite a fellow nurse or nursing student as any speciality is welcome to join!

* October 21st, 2021- In-person dinner meeting at Perry's Steakhouse: Preventing Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries in Critical Care with Visual Turn Cueing
* October 21-22nd, 2021- Virtual event: CCRN Review Course 16.25 CEUs POSTPONED by SPONSOR

*November 3rd, 2021- Volunteer event at the San Antonio Food Bank

* November 18th, 2021- In-person dinner meeting at Paloma: SCD Risk- Advanced Treatment and Protection for HFrEF Patients

*December 9th, 2021- In- Person Dinner & Christmas Masquerade Party at Maggiano's: Proning and Vertical Positioning in COVID19/ARDS Patients
* January 20th, 2021- In-Person dinner meeting at J-Prime Steakhouse: Contemporary Heart Failure Management for the Critical Care Nurse
* February 17th, 2022- In-Person Dinner at NE Baptist Education Center: ISMP Safe Practice Guidelines for Adult IV Push Medications
* March 17th, 2022- Certification Celebration Dinner at Stonewerks Big Rock Grille

* April 5th, 2022- Volunteer event at Habitat for Humanity
* April 21st, 2022- In-Person Dinner at Maggiano's: Sepsis 2022 Updates
* May 16-18th, 2022- AACN National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition (NTI) in Houston
* June 9th 2022- In-Person Dinner at NE Baptist: Personalized Enteral Feeding Tube Placement and Taste of NTI 

Our chapter Board Members meet on the first Monday of the month from 6:30-7:30pm. We are currently meeting virtually via Zoom, but hope to get back to meeting in-person very soon! Anyone is welcome to attend board meetings and get involved! No additional experience is required and we welcome the fresh faces to the team!
